The Appraisal Process

TrakStar automatically manages the appraisal process for you. When it's time for an employee's appraisal, email reminders are automatically sent to the manager - and if self-appraisals are enabled - to the manager as well. A link in the email takes them directly to TrakStar where they can rate the appraisal form. All done automatically.

Employee Self-Appraisals

Self-Appraisals are a valuable tool used by many organizations to discover the employee's perception of his or her performance. They help find discrepancies in performance between the employee and manager, and they are a built-in feature of TrakStar.

Compare Scores

If you choose to enable employee self-appraisals, TrakStar will provide the manager with a link to the "Compare Scores Report" in the appraisal workshop. This report gives the manager a visual comparison of the employees overall appraisal score compare with the managers. In addition, each factor is displayed along with both the employee and manager ratings along with any comments made.

Route for Approval

Appraisals can be routed to any number of approvers before it is closed. You can:

  • Disable route for approval
  • Allow managers to route the appraisal to anyone
  • Create a list of available approvers that managers can route to
  • Require that managers route the appraisal to a specific list before the appraisal can be closed

Spell and Legal Language Checker

As you type in any text box in TrakStar, language is automatically checked for spelling errors and language that may be considered legally sensitive. TrakStar flags sensitive words in these sensitive areas:

  • Gender
  • Ethnicity
  • Disabilities
  • Religious
  • Age
  • Family
  • Sexual
  • Political
  • Profanity

Past Appraisals

Now you can view all of your past appraisals in one centralized, organized, online system. No more searching for a paper appraisal in a file cabinet. All past appraisals are accessible at any time in TrakStar. Employees can view their own appraisals, managers can view the appraisals of their direct reports and anyone below them in the management chain, and administrators have full access to appraisals.
